HARK Partners with Working Wheels
HARK was one of 15 Working Wheels partners invited to attend an annual partners meeting in February. Working Wheels is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing affordable and reliable transportation to families in need through their Vehicle Purchase and Vehicle Repair programs. Folks who would otherwise struggle to purchase used vehicles or fund repairs for their existing cars receive life-changing assistance, boosting access to healthcare, suitable housing, and jobs with competitive wages. Of the clients surveyed by Working Wheels, 100% report improved quality of life!
In addition to partnering with Working Wheels, HARK has funded vehicle repairs through numerous garages in Buncombe County, covering costs for new car batteries, brake replacement, and various mechanical issues. Reliable transportation is especially critical for the families of our at-risk children, facilitating student attendance, parental functioning, and normalization of life. When families have access to safe and dependable vehicles, they can better navigate the daily challenges of work, school, and childcare, creating a more stable and supportive environment for their children’s growth and success.
Huge shoutout to Working Wheels for the incredible work they do to keep families moving forward! Their dedication to providing affordable vehicle solutions is truly transforming lives in our community. HARK is excited to be a Working Wheels partner and looks forward to continuing this impactful collaboration! 🚗💙
